York HVAC Product Label Informationm
York HVAC equipment like the indoor air handler or outdoor compressor-condenser unit is identified by a product data tag or sticker that contains information about the unit. The data tag will include two key identification fields: the product designation or identification code and the product's individual serial number.
York Product Serial Number & equipment age
The product serial number is a unique character string including numbers that can be decoded to give the product's age and manufacturing details.
Detailed instructions on how to decode the York HVAC serial number are in the PDF given just below.
For more help in decoding air conditioner, boiler, furnace, heat pump, water heater data tags and determining the age, model, or specifications of that equipment, see
The product designation or model identification code is a character string that provides information about the product type, features and capacity.
The equipment product number will give product category, product generation, nominal cooling capacity, air handler capacity in CFM, Factory installed heater, Nominal heating capacity, Voltage Code, Product Identifier, Serial Number guide, factory insdtalled options, accessory information.
All units
are thoroughly inspected and tested prior
to shipment, eliminating potential problems
at startup. Motor wiring is brought to a
junction box and terminated.
The junction
box is located on the outside of the unit
casing, reducing electrical hook-up time.
A wide variety of fan-discharge configurations allow for
increased flexibility and easier installation on the jobsite,
resulting in cost reductions by eliminating expensive
elbows, etc.
Designers
The extensive variety of standard options available on
the ACB/ACR units are where you find the versatility to
fit any HVAC system designer’s needs.
Options include: Mixing boxes with standard low-leak
dampers, blow-thru electric heat with single-point power
connection. All electric heat units are listed with ETL as
an assembly and carry the cETL label.

Excerpt: The Single Package Vertical Heat Pump is a compact throughthe-wall packaged system, capable of providing total heating
and cooling functions for a single zone or multiple rooms.
Unlike conventional horizontal equipment, each Single PackageVertical Heat Pump Unit has been designed with sufficient airhandling capacity for ducted installations.
The Single PackageVertical Heat Pump Units are ideally suited for the perimeter
zones of buildings such as:
• Hotels and Motels
• High-Rise Apartments / Condominiums
• Hospitals / Nursing Homes
• Dormitories
• Renovated Office Space
The VP-Series unit is installed in a closet having an exterior
wall. Wall mounting sleeves for various wall thicknesses are
available for installation during building construction. Final
installation is reduced to sliding the unit onto the mounting
sleeve, and connecting the electrical supply.
The result is a
low cost installation, and allows delivery of the units to be
deferred until just before occupancy.
This instruction covers the installation of the following variable speed blower sections: N1VSD10A06
N1VSD14A06
N2VSD20A06
Excerpt: The blower section is the basic component of an indoor modular system which may be combined with various accessories listed below to make an evaporator blower, evaporator blower with electric heat, heat pump blower, and heat pump blower with electric heat.
Because of the many ways this Air Handler may be applied and the large variety of available accessories, the indoor portion of the cooling or heat pump system comes to you in modules.
These modules must be field assembled to meet the specific needs of the owner. If this variable speed air handler is installed with a two stage (H*DS) outdoor condensing unit, a thermal expansion valve kit must be installed on the indoor side.
Check modules (accessories, etc.) received, against plans to be sure all required modules are available for assembly.
These high efficiency, compact units employ induced combustion, reliable
hot surface ignition and high heat transfer aluminized tubular heat
exchangers. The units are factory shipped for installation in upflow or
horizontal applications and may be converted for downflow applications.
These furnaces are designed for residential installation in a basement,
closet, alcove, attic, recreation room or garage and are also ideal for
commercial applications. All units are factory assembled, wired and
tested to assure safe dependable and economical installation and operation.
These units are Category IV listed and may not be common vented with
another gas appliance as allowed by the National Fuel Gas Code.
