The original Coleman company was founded Oklahoma in the U.S. by W.C. Coleman in 1900. Coleman's first product and its most famous was a line of lanterns that by 1914 were sold widely in the U.S. Coleman camp stoves were introdued in the 1940s, first as a portable or "pocket" stove used by soldies during WWII.

Coleman HVAC (Coleman heating and air condtioning equipment) originated in 1958, was purchased by MacAndrews & Forbes in 1989, then was sold on to Beacon International (Canada), also titled Beacon Capital Corporation, in 1990, when the company was renamed Evcon Industries.

Evcon was purchased by York International in 1994.

Active brand: Coleman Evcon.

Currently (1999-2022) Coleman® Air Conditioning is a residential cooling system line produced and sold by York's Unitary Products Group which is, in turn, owned by Johnson Controls.

Where can I find a capacitor for an old Coleman Evcon A/C unit

I am seeking to identify compressor model I have in an old Coleman Evcon air conditioning unit. I need to identify a capacitor and capacitor is bad and compressor model number info is not shown. I have air conditioning unit model number and serial number. - Anonymous by private email 2022/07/31

Look for the data tag on your equipment, then see

CAPACITOR SIZE DETERMINATION for ELECTRIC MOTORS

Where you'll see general guidelines for motor start/ru capacitor selection when exact motor details are not known.

Also if you can, post photos here of your Coleman Evcon air conditioner and of any data tags you can find.

 

I added a synchronizing relay to my Coleman electric furnace - now it burned up - DIY furnace modifications

I have an Electric coleman 3400s furnace. In the beginning it will run fine and get the trailer to temp but shortly after the elements will light and the blower will stay off.

I put a new sinkurnizing relay on it and thought that fixed it.

by (mod) your system is unsafe, should be left off, and you need help from a licensed electrician

Watch out: What you describe sounds very dangerous, risking fire or death from shock. It is possible that the main breaker you are turning off is a defective switch that
is not turning off internally even though you switch the toggle to OFF.

Use the page top or bottom CONTACT link to send me photographs of the switch and of the furnace, being sure to include any visible labels or markings on the electrical box and switch.

Meanwhile, I suggest keeping people away from the furnace, keeping aware that ALL of the electrical components in the system might be unsafe, and that you should call a licensed electrician for help.

Coleman 7900 Series mobile home furnace won't start

Coleman 7900 series mobile home furnace. I just bought this place as is condition.

Watch out: Because there are fire and life safety questions involved, if I were buying a new home that had gas-fired heat that wasn't working normally, I don't think I would feel with it myself I would call a trained service technician to be sure that the heating equipment and the chimney were working properly.

Watch out: The risks of a fire or fatal carbon monoxide accident are just too serious to be casual about this.

Your service tech will check that there is a fuel supply and then check the ignition system and safety controls. When the burner ignites she will check to see that the combustion is proper and that the combustion air is proper in order to be sure that you're not facing a carbon monoxide Hazard.

Also be sure that you have working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in your home.
