Seven firms are offering to repair or replace certain furnaces, which were sold under their own labels, but were manufactured by Consolidated Industries Inc.
  
  The units involved are gas-fired horizontal furnaces equipped with steel "NOx" rods installed above the burners and are commonly called NOx rod furnaces. These furnaces pose a substantial risk of fire.

How old is this goettl? ! It posted dates 1995 before there was a s/n standard. Anyone have an idea?

I don't know, but thanks for the photo and question.

We do know that the unit was made in or after 1979 thanks to that yellow EnergyGuide sticker, and to the U.S. Federal Register record of Federal Trade Commission rules, last updated 10.30.2019 and quoted below:

The Commission issued the Energy Labeling Rule (“Rule”) in 1979,[1] pursuant to the Energy Policy and Conservation Act of 1975 (“EPCA”).[2]

The Rule requires energy labeling for major home appliances and other consumer products to help consumers compare competing models. - Document Citation: 84 FR 58026 Page: 58026-58045 (20 pages)

I can't make out the serial nr. G. but on enlarging the photo [Click to enlarge any image] I think I see "08 01 86" that may indicate a manufacturing date of 1986.

I'm not sure of their relationship with the original Goettl Air Conditioning Company founded in the U.S. in 1939, but we found this going concern
