Tracking down parts or manuals for older HVAC equipment can lead to the need to trace the history of companies and company names to a current corporation that purchased, absorbed, or merged with an older company and brand. Singer HVAC equipment is an example of this process.

In 1984 SnyderGeneral operations included Arcoaire, Comfortmaker, McQuay. In 1988 SynderGeneral bought American Air Filter. In 1991, sold Arcoaire & Comfortmaker to Inter-City Products.

In 1982 Singer HVAC became the climate the control division of Snyder General Corporation.

In 1982 became the climate control unit of SnyderGeneral Corp. with name dropped.

In 1984 SnyderGeneral operations included Arcoaire, Comfortmaker, McQuay.

 By 1984 Snyder General had also acquired Arcoaire and Comfortmaker, McQuay brands, and in 1988 Snyder General acquired AAF - American Air Filter.

In 1988 SynderGeneral bought American Air Filter.

In 1991, sold Arcoaire & Comfortmaker to INTER-CITY Furnaces & HVACR Products.

In 1991 Snyder General sold Arcoaire & Comfortmaker to Inter-City Products.

AAF-McQuay operated as SnyderGeneral until 1994, when that company was purchased by Hong Leong Group Malaysia. Hong Leong in turn is part of Daikin Industries.

Hong Leong continued operation of AAF International and produces air-filtration products under the AAF and AmericanAirFilter brand products.

McQuay International produces commercial air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment (chiller products, air handling systems, applied terminal systems, and industrial refrigeration).

Readers looking for a Singer HVAC or heat pump installation manual, users guide, or parts guide might be able to obtain a manual from AAF or McQuay, but it's doubtful. Try contacting:

In 1994 Snyder General was acquired by Hong Leong Group Malaysia. Snyder General is at 2001 Ross Avenue Dallas, TX 75201 .

Watch out:  you might successfully find parts, manuals, wiring diagrams for Singer or other HVAC equipment brands by searching for "Companyname Parts" online. But keep in mind that the "Companyname Parts" provider that appears might have nothing to do with the original company, name, or brand.

It's worth a call to be sure that the part number or manual are ordering is really for the equipment that you are repairing or servicing.
