Zinsco Electric is not a going concern and it is unlikely that readers will find direct contact information for "the Zinsco Corporation".

Current Owner of the ZInsco and.or Sylvania Circuit Panel Product Line:

Susan Wright, legal specialist for Osram Sylvania, kindly informed us (March 2011) that the Zinsco/Sylvania product line was sold to Verizon in 1984. GTE purchased Zinsco Circuit Breaker in the seventy’s and then sold the business in 1983 to another 3rd party.  In 2000 Verizon purchased GTE who at that time was called GTE Sylvania.

As Zinsco products were later marketed through the Osram Sylvania Electric Corporation, and GTE-Sylvania and because we've had occasional requests from prior employees of Zinsco Corporation or their families for assistance in contacting their prior employer or for employment records, we provide, below, contact information for the Sylvania Corporation.

Readers should be aware that information and photographs describing failures of GTE-Sylvania-Zinsco equipment pertain only to that product line and not to other GTE or Sylvania products.

Zinsco or Sylvania Employment Records, Pensions, or other employment records: most companies keep employee records indefinitely.

Even if you or a family member worked for Zinsco Corp. before that product line was picked up by Sylvania, Sylvania Corporation may have received and kept those employment records.

You should contact Sylvania with any such requests for employment information.

There is and was not a Zinsco panel recall. You should replace the electrical panel.

If you can attache photos of the panel and any damage, perhaps taken by your electrician with the panel cover removed, that would be a useful field report.

Who do I contact regarding recalls, we have a Zinsco panel and one of our recepticles caught fire and it didn’t even trip our breaker, after that happened half of our house lost electrical power? Please help

Replacement circuit rbeakers are available only, The original Zinsco is gone for decades. You can purchase Replacement zinsco at JRL.

WARNING: replacement circuit breakers that have been tested for these problem brands have generally performed no better than the originals. Joe's advice is in our opinion bad and unsafe.
