Trianco Boilers U.K. & U.S.

Trianco electric boiler cited at InspectApedia.comTrianco Boilers U.K.

In the U.K. Trianco produces and sells several types of heating boilers including electric, oil-fired, wood pellet, and coal boilers. The company's headquareters are in Sheffield, England. The company has been in business in the U.K. since its founding at Thorncliffe circa 1855, re-named to Triancco Heating Company in 1972.

The company's current product lines are Aztec (electric boilers - shown here), Contractor, Eurostar oil-fueled boilers (shown at page top), Greenstar or Greenflame (wood pellet-fueled heating boilers), TRG (solid fuel boilers).

The company also provides both residential and Commercial HVAC airsources (air-sourced heat pump equipment) for heating and hot water.

Under this name, the 1940s and 50s saw the company pioneer domestic oil fired boilers and it was probably the first with an oil combi. In the early 1970s they acquired Trianco Stewart, a small oil boiler manufacturer, and thus Trianco was born.

A management buy out followed in 1983 and then, in 1995, the company became part of the Bullough Group and subsequently Union Investment (a merchant bank based in London)

When your domestic hot water supply (washing / bathing) is from a tankless coil and water quantity runs out more quickly I would look at the boiler temperature first. The fact is no tankless coil hot water system will give endless hot water, as the rate at which heat is removed from the boiler by the coil is faster than the oil burner can put heat in. That's because the rest of the boiler/heating system was designed to heat the home not to heat a tankless coil.

A mixing valve gives the appearance of more hot water because it meters out the hot water more slowly, mixing in some cold.

1. Check the boiler aquastat settings, and use the InspectApedia search box at the top or bottom of any Inspectapedia.com page to find our article on RECOMMENDED AQUASTAT SETTINGS to see where they should be

2. Check that when the boiler temperature is below the LO on the aquastat the burner is firing; if it's not the system needs service/repair, and yes the control or its temperature sensor could be defective.

I have an older Trianco (blue) boiler ,house is 30+ yrs old. Unknown if original boiler. Kept losing hot water volume (running out after 1-3 minutes). Dont hear furnace coming on when hot h20 is called for. It does have a newer mixer inline installed Aug 2015. Have only light warm water when called for 5 secs then just called/furnace doesnt fire.

Dont have large iron an mineral water content in NH. My intent at this point is a sulfuric acid bath of coil. ,remove clean the mixer valve. Not sure if control box needs change or not.? Thoughts?
