Proper Connections for Metal Chimney Sections

Metal chimney section connection requirements (C) Carson Dunlop AssociatesVirtually every multiple-wall metal chimney is built of sections of varying lengths that are joined using a method designed by the manufacturer.

Joining may be by twist-locking sections together or by special clamps.

For this reason (and others) it is important to purchase the proper lengths needed for the chimney.

If your factory-made metal chimney includes one or more sections that were cut to shorten a length or that were modified in some other way, it is an improper and unsafe installation.
